A Letter from the President:

Welcome to the new and improved MLPA website.  We hope you will find this easier to use – at least once you have signed in.  For security reasons, we were unable to import the old membership data to the new site so you will need to reestablish your identity in order to login.  If you experience any problems, please email me at lbryan@dsckd.com or president@mlpa.org.  I will try to help.
 
This has been an interesting year for MLPA.  We have had some great successes – the Celebration of Summer last May, the Monumental Ball in October, and the Taste of Morningside also in October – and we thank all of you who volunteered your time and effort.  We have also had challenges.  Last fall, our membership chair resigned for personal reasons.  At about the same time, our long-standing database manager decided he was unable to continue that uncompensated labor of love.  And, we redesigned the website.  With all of those changes, we fell down on our commitment to communicate with our neighbors.  Notwithstanding those challenges, however, the Board continued to address zoning and variance issues in the neighborhood, to monitor traffic volume and speed concerns, to provide the Security Patrol services, to enhance our neighborhood through a commitment to the parks and environment, and to contribute to our schools.
 
Going forward, we commit to you that we will do better: we will communicate more regularly and we will solicit your input more frequently.  In the meantime, the Board meets on the second Monday of the month, at 7:30, at the Morningside Presbyterian Church.  Come join us!
